I usually keep my head
to the asphalt and man-made garbage
Downward at the curbsides and processed wood-chips.
But Today.
Today.
Today I lifted it up.
Today I paused and eyed Heaven.
What had I been missing?
Today the sky was vibrant...
Today those clouds stretched and swirled,
And I, envied them from below.
Today the blue Mountains signified stability;
and not the traffic lights and telephone poles.
The newborn leaves strained to touch some sky
and I was with them.
Oh today was freedom on my fingertips--
Blue so big I could taste it.
